Paph. spicerianum

The interesting Paph. spicerianum is very easy to grow under warm to cool growing conditions. The bloom lasts for more than a month. I got this plant from a friend a few years ago, this is one of my favorite Paph. species.

Bulb. rothschildianum

Also known as "King of the Bulbophyllum" because of its polished luxury flowers. It is really an eye catcher. Just easy to grow and blooms in the early winter.

Dendrochilum uncatum

This small to medium sized Dendrochilum was found in Taiwan and Philippines, the yellow-green blooms are small, scented like lemon which can last about 2 weeks.

Holcoglossum wangii

First blooming season for this young plant, it is not strong enough to carry many buds, so finally I got 2 blooms but lost the others. A pretty Holcoglossum with fleshy, elongate and canaliculate leaves, a China species.

Bulb. Elizabeth Ann

Really attractive flower, this is a very successful F1 made with Bulb. longissimum and Bulb. rothschildianum. It's worth to grow one in your greenhouse for enjoying the handsome blooms.

Ionopsis utricularioides

This small and fragile-looking orchid was found in central America and the north of the South America. Unlike how it looks like, Ionopsis utricularioides is very easy to grow and the flowers last about a month.

Laelia rubescens var. alba

This pretty Laelia species is native to Mexico and Central America, the autumnal blooms are usually pale pink, but this one is its album form. It's ok to grow it in the baskets or mount on cork bark to make stunning specimen.

Haraella retocalla

Edemic to Taiwan, one species in one genera, Haraella retocalla is a special and pretty miniature orchid. Found as the epiphyte in the low land forest of Taiwan, it blooms from time to time all year around, but heavily in the fall to spring.

Habenaria myriotricha

Very eye-catching, this Hab. species is really showy. It's a hot-growing plant and was found in Thailand.

Pecteilis sagarikii

Found in Thailand, this is a cute terrestial orchid with remarkable color, also-called as Donald Duck Orchid, just fits like as it is.

Bulbophyllum carunculatum

A medium sized Bulb. , it is endemic to the Philippines, the inflorescence can carry scented flowers (not good smell) which blooms one after another, but the color is glory.

Habenaria rhodocheila

An eye-cathcing terrestial orchid with very nice color, compact and easy grower. Hab. rhodocheila is hot to warm growing specie, it usually blooms during summer to autumn.

Bulb. lobbii

There are many clone types of Bulb. lobbii , this one should be the most colorful. Very pretty !

Aerangis biloba

I think Aerangis biloba is the most beautiful and easy-growing species within Aerangis family. The flowers are showy and fragrant at night. Love it !!!

Cattleya labiata var. amoena

Cattleya labiata is a big family with many varieties, I like this one with a bit touch of pinkish. Fragrance as it should be.

Phal. amboinensis

Found in the Molucca Islands, Indonesia, Phal. amboinensis is very commonly used in Phalaenopsis crossing due to flower's patterns. The flower stem can produce flowers year after year as long as it remains green.

Phal. mariae

Found in the Philippines and West Borneo, Phal. mariae is a low land species. It requires shade as its habitat is usually on the big tree trunks with limited sunlight. The flowers are with special fruit scent.

Cynorkis fastigiata

It seems a weed in the pot, but finally the ID was found.  Just don't know how it comes. :-)

Ascocentrum pumilum

Endemic to Taiwan, the Ascocentrum pumilum is one of the most pretty miniature orchids. It's not easy to grow in the low land in Taiwan as it resides at sea level around 1500-2000m. This photo was taken in situ, the natural stuff is just perfect.

Paph. dayanum

I bought this stylish Paph. from my friend when he brought some Paph. species from Sabah (Malaysia). He said that it may be lawrenceanum or javanicum, but finally it bloomed as Paph. dayanum. I don't think this species is eye-catching but it does show the unique character which is second to none within the genus Paphiopedilum.

Paph. violascens

Paph. violascens is not that popular in cultivation, found in New Guinea as a terrestrial that requires warm environment. I prefer its color combination which make this species look purely colorful.

Dendrobium schuetzei

An endemic Dendrobium to the Philippines as a warm to hot growing species. The flower is very showy but without fragrance.

Phal. lindenii

Phal. lindenii is endemic to the Philippines, it is found in the mountain of central Luzon at 1000-1500m above the sea level, thus it requires warm to intermediate conditions with floating moist.

Phal. tetraspis

One of my favorite Phalaenopsis species, it is always generous to bloom from the spring to autumn. It is also a strong plant, I never saw it in disease, very easy grower.

Onc. jonesianum

A lovely species, it is better to mount it on a slab.

Phal. equestris

Phal. equestris is found in the Philippines and Taiwan, a hot to warm growing species. There are many color forms according to different habitats. It is interesting to grow different color of Phal. equestris.

Miltonia spectabilis var. moreliana

Very showy flower with classic deep purple-red color, slightly scented. Hot to warm growing habits, this Miltonia is easy to grow in Taiwan.

Pholidota cantonensis

Last week I went to central Taiwan where the sea level is around 1000M, I can still feel cool and comfortable during summer. At a small pool side I found this cute orchid Pholidota cantonensis. There are many.

One of my favorite Dendrobium species, the color is eye-catching. A miniature orchid.
