Catasetum pileatum

Raise it a year and the bloom lasts about 3 days ..... the pay off doesn't equal to the efforts. XD Fortunately Ctsm. pileatum is quite easy to grow, not bad.

This pretty, tender and elegant Dendrobium is really an eye-catching plant. Native in South China, Vietnam and Taiwan, it blooms in early spring with fragrant smell. A must have if you adores the Dendrobium species, especially the most beautiful ones.

Maxillaria porphyrostele

A Maxillaria flower looks like Cymbidium from Brazil. It blooms during spring and has a sweet fragrance. Easy to grow and bloom in Taiwan.

Paph. fairrieanum

Very cute and miniature Paph. species, the bloom's outlook is unique among Paphiopedilum family. This plant is native to east Himalaya to Assam, India and grows on dolomite limestone cliffs. It requires a cool and dry season to encourage the bloom.

Amesiella philippinensis

This small plant has relatively large bloom with a spear. Grows as tiny epiphyte and blooms in spring. It's native in the central mountains of Luzon island, the Philippines.

Sophronitis cernua

S. cernua was first discovered in 1828 and is the type species for the genus Sophronitis, it is also the smallest of the genus. They are pretty for their red-orange blooms which are clustered at the end of short inflorescences. They are presented somewhat downwards giving the species the name "Nodding Sophronitis". It grows as epiphytes or lithophytes in Paraguay and Brazil.

A very interesting night-fragrant orchid, the strong jasmine smell can spread on the air when the night comes. The little blooms last about a month, the payoff is quite worth if you grow one in your greenhouse. :-)
